: hakki

This was my first real attempt at doing some portraiture. Luckily, the light was great on this late autumn day. Despite some focusing issues with my lens, I think some of these came out quite nice. Click here or the images below to launch the gallery. Check out Hakki's portfolio at his site www.hakki.com

This one is going pretty far back, but I always did like and was proud of this work. It included this video for the CES show in Las Vegas as well as the graphics for the booth design below. The video script was written by Steve Lynch at Partners + simons, I art directed the piece, and we worked with The Barbarian Group Boston office to produce the final work.

This square image was a 10'x10' wall that I always loved. Just something about the size and presence of something like that. I normally don't like to work in even or symmetrical shapes, so this presented an extra level of challenge in making it look just right.

: nokia

Proud to say that the first BETA release of this project has launched. As part of the global Nokia.com redesign Nokia has released the Ireland site as a testing ground. Many of the features are not in this releae, but look for great things to come soon.
We have been working for the better part of the last year on a few projects for Nokia. Some of these are in conjunction with our sister companies in Europe at Isobar. Hoping to be able to share with you the outcome of some of that work here soon.

: color in firefox vs. chrome

Anyone out there designing for the web or doing photography for an online portfolio, beware of the Google Chrome browser. Apparently there is not color management in the latest releases. Images and graphics come across very different from what their creators intended. Make sure none of your clients are using it to view your work! This will hopefully be fixed in coming versions.

The image below shows how the photo renders in Firefox on the left, and on the right with Google Chrome. If you are using Chrome, go to Firefox or Safari to see the significant difference.

Very interesting application design. Why would it have to be all buttons and interface. Why can't applications be more like this?

Above photo by Hedi Slimane.

Doesn't get more fabulous than this. Hedi Slimane's photography has me obsessed lately. Check out some of his ongoing work for some top fashion lines and a more personal photo diary. His homepage now features a video. Once again, the future of photography does seem to be video.
